Basic factors to consider before buying a laptop in Kenya

Basic factors to consider before buying a laptop in Kenya.

Many people desire to have a personal computer and almost all university students are required to have their own laptops for learning purposes, 'inaitwa digital era.' You can imagine if the Kenyan government wants a class one pupil to have a laptop, then why should you lack a laptop? A laptop services a wide range of purposes ranging from education to entertainment. Now that you are thinking about buying your own laptop, allow me to tell you what you should consider before buying a laptop.

The reason I am blogging about this topic is that I don't want you to make the same mistakes I made when purchasing my first laptop. When I wanted to buy a laptop, I knew little about laptops so I just walked myself to a nearby mall and as I was passing by looking for a laptop shop, I spotted a poster which stated ' Special Offer!!!Laptop for sale @ Ksh. 30.' I thought this was the cheapest laptop because according to me, I knew laptops were so expensive. Without having a second thought, I quickly splashed my cash and ran home smiling. I had just purchased my first laptop. After interacting with computers for a while, I knew I had thrown my money away. I bought a laptop which was worth around Ksh. 15,000 yet I payed Ksh. 30,000 for it . The laptop had a hard disk space of only 80Gb, IGb Ram and a weak battery that lasts for 30 minutes. My 30k would have bought me a good laptop with 500Gb hard disk and 4Gb of ram. In this article, I will share with you the importance of each laptop specification. I wish I could have known which specs to consider before buying a laptop. I don't want you to regret like I do. Let me take you to what brought you here:

What you should consider before buying a laptop in Kenya.

1. Hard Disk Space.

Hard Disk space should be your first consideration before buying any laptop. The space will determine how much content you can store in your laptop. If you want to have more space for storing movies, music and documents, then I guess you will go for a laptop with large hard disk space. I recommend you to buy a laptop that is 500Gb and above. The least hard disk space should be 250Gb. Always inquire and confirm the hard disk space before buying a laptop.

2. Ram

Random Access Memory (RAM) is a major important features to consider in a laptop. The ram indicates the amount of memory your computer can hold while running softwares and services. A good computer should have a sufficient Ram which will ensure your laptop does not hang and is faster. Rams come in various sizes ; 1Gb,2Gb,4Gb,6Gb and 8Gb. The minimum Ram you should be 2Gb. Stay away from anything below 2Gb. But I would advise you to go for a 4Gb Ram laptop which is enough to handle sophisticated softwares and games like Fifa 2015.

3. Laptop model/manufacturer

There are various laptop models and not all of them are good. Among a crowded pack of laptop models, there are only few trusted laptop manufacturers that have positive user reviews. They are:

*Hp- My favorite laptop model, long lasting battery

* Samsung- Trusted laptop manufacturers

* Dell - Trusted laptop manufacturers for many years. Dell laptops are longer lasting. You can own the laptop for generations. Dell laptops can fall down and survive. But the only disappointed with dell is it's weak low lifespan battery.

* Apple - no doubt about apple. Price talks here.

* Acer - Excellent

* Asus - New laptop manufacturers in the market. I know little about them

* Sony - No competition

* Lenovo - Wow

Those are the trusted laptop manufacturers and models I recommend. Buy other models at your own risk. Always ensure you are buying the original laptop. Not all hp laptops are genuine. Be on the lookout for original laptops and you can only find original stuff in original shops like Safaricom shops, orange shops and other trusted laptop dealers countrywide.

4. Battery

A battery is what differentiates a laptop from a desktop computer. Only that. If you buy a laptop with a battery that lasts 10 minutes only, then I can tell you congratulations, you just bought your first desktop computer. A laptop should last for a minimum of 4 hours on full battery. Therefore ensure the laptop you are buying has a longer lasting battery that can operate whenever you bask in the sun or take a fresh breeze at a park. I will publish an article soon which features laptop battery maintenance that will help your battery last long.

Well this is my conclusion and maybe you have learnt a few things about what makes a good laptop and that's what you should go for. Good luck.

Make Money Online With Microworkers In Kenya

Microworkers a genuine way of making money online in Kenya. Many Kenyans have been searching online for how to earn online, how to make your first dollar online, how to earn a full income online e.t.c. I have also researched and tried many ways of making money online in Kenya and the only site that stood out was Microworkers. Microworkers as the name sounds is a micro work site which offers small micro jobs like liking a facebook page or following a twitter account. Imagine doing such basic tasks and each task pays a minimum of $0.10 meaning if you do 50 micro jobs daily, you will earn $5 daily. You can only spend two minutes doing each task and this is a site has many jobs posted daily. The beauty of Microworkers is that you don't need to own a computer before you can start doing jobs. You can log in to Microworkers using your mobile phone and do simple tasks without owning a pc. This should be good news since many Kenyans don't own computers and they have been wondering how...
